The system administrator seeks to ensure that the uptime, performance, resources, and security of the computers they manage meet the needs of the rest of the cyber team so they can perform their duties unhindered.

System Administrators are the doctors of the computer network. They are responsible for the upkeep, configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems. The system administrator seeks to ensure that the uptime, performance, resources, and security of the computers they manage meet the needs of the rest of the cyber team so they can perform their duties unhindered.

What sort of tasks does this include? Maintaining and updating the network servers and hardware, updating software patches and anti-virus software when needed, granting and removing employees access to digital folders and files as needed, ensuring employees are executing sensitive information handling protocols, training employees on correct digital engagement protocols, etc.

Unique aspects of this role. This will be a Linux system specific sys admin role and will involve shift work. You will be joining a team that runs 24x7x365 that requires shift work to ensure the network never faulters. This role will no require you to travel.

  • Analytical tendencies – like to assess, test and adjust processes.
  • A willingness to learn IT tools

IT skills required. Experience working with IT systems and Linux is preferred. If you have neither, sign up to our platform and complete the Systems Administration course and you will qualify for this role.
