The Role

The Mission Systems_Technician is primarily responsible for the execution of specific Mission Planning Systems contracts within their core competence. The specific duties are outlined in this Position Description. The Mission Systems_Technician is expected to provide the in-depth planning of tasks and schedules to meet customer demands, weighed against the priorities for resource allocation set by the local supervisor.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Under the direction of the Mission Planning Systems Team Lead, the incumbent is responsible for the fulfilment of Mission Planning systems technical requirements of Pacific Aerospace Consulting contracts. These contracts may be numerous and require interaction with a number of different customers, countries and locations.

2. Provide input to the engineering aspects of Mission Planning systems for each contract designated.

3. Responsible for the development and maintenance of positive and effective relationships with all stakeholders involved with current contracts servicing. This includes service providers/contractors, other government departments and international partners.

4. Incumbent will be required to undertake local, national and international travel to attend meetings and other forums as required, fulfilling contractual obligations with various customers.

5. To ensure the Mission Planning Systems Team Lead and/or Director of Operations (Aus) receives high quality and timely advice, information and recommendations on all issues relating to the execution of current contracts when required.

6. In consultation with the Mission Planning Systems Team Lead, be responsible for the development, management and appropriate auditing of services of those contracts currently engaged.

7. The incumbent will undertake other duties as directed by Director of Operations (Aus) and/or Mission Planning Systems Team Lead.

Required Skills

1. Minimum 5 years broad professional experience in Avionics or Information systems.

2. Minimum 3 years expertise in Mission Planning systems, or similar type system.

3. Minimum 3 years experience in administration of Windows based simple networks.

4. Working with classified systems and their specific requirements.

The availability to work shift-work;

A minimum NV1, with ability to obtain NV2;

Ability to travel within Australia and Overseas, as required;

A Current Driver’s Licence
